On a recent New Heights podcast episode, Taylor Swift served up the sweetest—and most unintentionally funny—story about her first date with NFL star Travis Kelce.
Back then, she admits, football wasn’t exactly her strong suit. So in a moment of genuine curiosity, she leaned in and asked Travis, “What was it like when the Chiefs played the Eagles in the Super Bowl?”
The problem? That meant she was essentially asking her boyfriend what it was like playing against his brother Jason… even though the two were never actually on the field at the same time. Cue instant embarrassment.
“I didn’t understand that the offense and defense aren’t out there together,” Taylor laughed, calling it an “insane” question in hindsight. But instead of teasing her, Travis took the time to explain: he plays offense, his brother plays offense, and they just rotate turns.
What could’ve been an awkward moment became an adorable one—solidifying one of their first shared memories. And here’s the kicker: Taylor says she’s now hooked on football.
“Travis was never judgmental about me not knowing anything,” she shared. “Now, I’m all in.”
